Wythit is Changing
Over the next few weeks wythit.com will be merged with realliveswythenshawe.com to create a new flagship community website for Wythenshawe. This new site uses the latest web technology to bring you new features as well as to carry on the best traditions of wythit.com, all wrapped up in an exciting and accessible new format.
Wythit has been around since 2004 and through workshops held in July 2008 with wythIt users and stakeholders it became apparent that the site needed to change and develop. However, because of the way wythIt was originally set up it was not possible to develop the site to make the most of the latest web technology.
The Real Lives image campaign was launched in October 2008 to celebrate Wythenshawe and its people. Realliveswythenshawe.com was developed to support the campaign and tell the real story of Wythenshawe – a good place to live.
The new realliveswythenshawe.com interactive website will bring you community news, , a calendar of upcoming events, a directory of local services, as well as the latest Wythenshawe news feeds from other websites. Over the next few weeks more features will be added as wythit.com closes down and the new site develops.
Like wythit we look to the community to get involved by adding news articles, telling us about your upcoming events, and giving us your feedback, keeping the site fresh and up to date.
We hope you like the new website, standing on the shoulders of wythit as a really useful and stimulating community resource.
The site has been developed with the technical support of Manchester Digital Development Agency, and is supported by Manchester City Council, Parkway Green Housing Trust, St Modwen, Willow Park Housing Trust and Wythenshawe Forum.
